CHINAPLAS 2021 Successfully Held Once Again, PRM Was on the Field!

As the biggest plastics and rubber industry exhibition, CHINAPLAS has opened the doors last week in Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center to welcome its exhibitors and visitors. PRM was at the field to report the on-site observations of this outstanding event with its international audiences.

It still has been a challenging era for many markets and industries around the world after the pandemic. Especially the international exhibitions, where many visitors and exhibitors come together to seek to enhance their businesses, got their shares from this unfortunate situation. Since last year many exhibitions have been cancelled. That makes many experts of plastics and rubber industry focus on CHINAPLAS 2021, whether it is going to be postponed.

This year’s event was expectedly different from previous versions due to travel restrictions and quarantine procedures for overseas exhibitors and visitors to the exhibition, which made CHINAPLAS 2021 mostly focus on Chinese market. Based on exhibition officials reports, there were still 577 overseas visitors. Moreover, the number of domestic visitors increased 30.7% compared with the last edition of the exhibition in 2019. Despite the absence of international visitors and exhibitors, due to the size of the Chinese market, this year CHINAPLAS was still attracting many exhibitors from Mainland and neighboring countries.

PRM has been preparing for this exhibition too with all forces to cultivate the opportunities from the fairground and continue to matchmake its global buyers and manufacturers of plastics and rubber industry. The nervousness this time is completely different from the previous exhibitions that we have upgraded many functions on our systems in a short time to be able to serve our clients, receive buyer inquiries from the field, process and forward them to the right manufacturers instantly. This time our President Mr. Wu represented PRM on the exhibition ground with the accompaniment of  Vice President Mr. Huang who is based in the Mainland. Rest part of the PRM members were at the duty for remote service in Taiwan as well.

Moreover, PRM Media Channel has launched a special episode about CHINAPLAS 2021 on its program " PRM What to Say " just before the show, which has been discussed about the upcoming exhibition, general concerns of the manufacturers and so on.

PRM What to Say - CHINAPLAS 2021 special edition

On the first day of the exhibition, early morning the organizer announced that there were 577 overseas visitors at CHINAPLAS 2021. Even though this number, there are indeed still foreign buyers willing to invest in the cost of quarantine time to visit the exhibition. That evides international visitors show great importance to the Chinese market. Moreover, the number of domestic visitors has increased by 30.7% compared with the previous edition of the exhibition in 2019. These reflects that the Chinese market is really attractive!

Officially announced on the first day of the exhibition there were 577 overseas visitors at CHINAPLAS 2021

In addition, CHINAPLAS was considering all the potential visitors who were not able to attend the physical exhibition, through many online and on-site hybrid forums and seminars that focus on the rising trends and current issues of of the global plastics and rubber industry:

1. Circular economy is a global consensus, the world's major manufacturers have proposed corresponding strategies

Regardless before and after the epidemic, the circular economy is the focus of attention in the industry. In the face of drastic changes in the world's climate, efficient methods for recycling and reusing of plastics are emerging, then the topic of circular economy has become a global consensus. CHINAPLAS 2021 has many forums and exhibition areas focusing on this topic. It has also been observed that several major Chinese companies have also put forward specific and clear strategies for this exhibition. The "Recycling Forum" held by Adsale the day before the exhibition received enthusiastic response, which shows that equipment, materials and solutions related to the circular economy are in great demand.

2. Under the influence of the epidemic, global demand of plastic packaging is emerging

Due to the impact of the epidemic, many countries around the world, except Taiwan, are still implementing the policy of lock down of cities. As a result, the demand of the household economy on the food packaging materials, electric entertainment and leisure equipment, medical products, e-commerce applications, protective packaging materials has increased substantially. And most of them are urgent orders even though the current shortage of logistics. Sometimes a delay can be as short as one or two weeks, and it can be as long as three months or six months.

3. Countries around the world use infrastructure and fiscal stimulus to try to drive national economies

Last year’s epidemic smashed all countries, especially in the economic and commercial sector. Countries and economic regions such as the United States, China, Japan, the European Union, Central and South America, and the Middle East have all been affected. Some countries have offered fiscal stimulus and revitalization plans, while others have proposed strengthening domestic infrastructure projects, all in an attempt to stimulate the national economy and bring out growth momentum. Therefore, the demand for the related production equipment required by the infrastructure and energy industries are inevitably increasing.

4. With the advent of the 5G era, the Internet of Things will accelerate the implementation of Industry 4.0 more concretely and truly

Comparing previous years, when Germany proposed Industry 4.0, everyone was still confused. Today, because of the rapid growth of the Internet of Things, especially in the plastics and rubber industry, has made many countries invest in China. Even the European Plastics and Rubber Industry Machinery Manufacturers Association (EUROM) , VDMA , and OPC chose to promote solutions and standardized framework services in CHINAPLAS.

This year CHINAPLAS 2021 evide that the international exhibitions are still applicable under conscious preventions and safety regulations. That also shows that, in the future many exhibitions are going to upgrade their business models and by using the power of the internet they will provide more hybrid solutions such as matchmaking events, interactive webinars and so on for the visitors and exhibitors who are not able to attend the on-site event.
