NPE 2018 Starts Next Week - 2015 Review And What To Look Out For This Time!

NPE, the largest plastics and rubber exhibition in the United States has gone through 70 years of development, and the 2018 edition is now upon us.
Every three years NPE is held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, California. During this five-day exhibition, Officials expect to attract at least 65,000 professional buyers.。

【Previous Show Review】
After recovering from the global financial crisis in 2008, NPE 2015 benefited from the ever-improving U.S. economic climate. With a larger than ever exhibition hall area and both exhibitors and buyer numbers higher than all previous editions.

Throughout Obamas’ presidency, The USA focused on keeping a great relationship with Central and South American countries, to help maintaining United States influence around this area of the world. China and it’s increasingly competitive economy is now the second largest trading partner of Central and South America. With 2014, bilateral trade at more than US$240 billion.

【Recent Changes】
However, in 2018, the new president of United States, Trump, has adopted the new America first stance when dealing with other countries, limiting the amount of expansion and benefits companies receive for outsourcing to Central and South America and instead focusing on getting Americans into work. Recently, he has seen the trade deficit between the US and China to be one of concern and one that needs to be addressed and frequently made public provocative remarks. This brings an air of uncertainty into the future of trade between these two economic superpowers, with a more belligerent, China choosing to meet western challenges directly in order to protect their own interests.

With US stocks facing uncertainty and the growing possibility of a trade war with China, there seem to be two spheres of influence growing instead of The USA being the traditional global leader.
