Leading the Way in Customized Extrusion Solutions: Sino-Alloy’s Highlight at K Show

Looking at the development trends of the plastics and rubber industry, we can see a diversification and specialization trend. Integrating the viewpoints presented globally, it is clear that the industry is rapidly evolving toward sustainability, high performance, high-efficiency processes, digitalization, and smart technology!

The 2025 Plastics and Rubber Industry annual event will be the triennial K Show! Each time, the K Show's theme not only highlights trends but also drives the global development wave. The 2025 K Show will kick off with the theme "The Power of Plastics: Green - Smart - Responsible," which immediately sparked responses and initiatives from all sectors.

The PRM team has also decided to interpret the Spotlight of 2025 with this theme. For the first feature of the new year, we have an exclusive interview with Sino-Alloy Machinery, a company that has gained domestic and international attention in the extrusion field for its excellent technology and rich development experience. We discovered that Sino-Alloy's recent innovations align perfectly with the 2025 K Show theme and meet the latest industry trends.

Precise Extrusion Experimental Machines as a Developer's Tool

Whether it's the most popular sustainable eco-friendly materials today or high-performance composite materials used in aerospace and automotive industries, precise formulations are required to create composite materials that meet specific functionalities. Due to the high uncertainty and material costs, how to ensure that the formulation will produce the best quality composite materials during the development phase? How to confirm that the developed product meets expectations? These are the keys to successful innovation and development!

“Conducting small batch material blending tests is the most crucial part of successful development!” said Sindy, Sales Manager of Sino-Alloy Machinery, with a gentle smile, revealing an industry secret.

This requires the use of an "extrusion experimental machine" to conduct small batch blending tests and see if the engineer-designed formula can achieve the expected high-performance requirements, or whether recycled materials maintain product quality after being reintroduced into production. These extrusion experimental machines are like mini versions of full-sized extruders, typically set up in laboratories, allowing engineers to accurately replicate development ideas and identify any blind spots.

“Sino-Alloy specializes in extrusion experimental machines, also known as ‘extrusion testing devices.’ Not only do we design and manufacture extrusion experimental machines, but we also assist customers with material testing,” Sindy showed us Sino-Alloy’s long-term setup of extrusion experimental machines in their factory. Indeed, these are smaller than regular extrusion machines but are fully functional and no less impressive.

Blending Bamboo Powder with PP to Meet ESG Demands but Challenge Extruders

As global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues continue to heat up, the demand for biodegradable materials, recycled plastics, and even bio-based materials is rapidly increasing. However, these sustainable materials present challenges to extrusion machines just as complex as composite materials, particularly because of their inclusion of bio-based materials. The requirements for acid resistance, wear resistance, and uniform blending of the extruder screws and feed pipes are heightened, adding more challenges to the design and manufacturing of extrusion machines.

But for Sino-Alloy, with its rich experience, mixing various bio-based materials with plastics has become routine. “Even before environmental awareness surged and sustainable materials became the trend, Sino-Alloy had already successfully blended bio-based materials with plastics, increasing the proportion of bio-based materials to meet customer needs,” Sindy confidently stated.

Recently, Sino-Alloy helped a Japanese client successfully blend bamboo powder with PP, increasing the bamboo powder ratio to 35%. This mix not only retained the plastic's moldability and flexibility but also provided the bamboo's resilience and rigidity. It was used in disposable sanitary products like toothbrushes and combs, receiving high praise and recognition from the customer for its excellent quality.

Extruders are Not Only for the Plastics Industry but Also for the Food Industry

Extruders are not only used in the plastics and rubber industry; they also have applications in the food industry. Sindy mentioned that Sino-Alloy’s extrusion machines are not only suitable for mixing and pelletizing plastics and rubber materials, but can also be applied in continuous mixing, puffing, gelatinization, and extrusion processes in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The key difference is that the steel used in manufacturing the machines must be stainless steel, and the structural design must account for the unique characteristics of food and pharmaceutical products, which differ from plastics and rubber materials, as well as varying production environment conditions.

“Perhaps it’s because Sino-Alloy often customizes equipment that we are very patient when faced with customer needs from the food industry, helping clients try various different approaches,” Sindy proudly showed us a well-known snack brand from Thailand and said, “We’ve worked with this customer for many years, helping them grow from a small company to a large brand. Recently, they returned to place an order with us again, and we’re scheduled to install the machine next month.”

Supporting K Show with Ten Consecutive Years of Participation

Due to its position in the mid- to high-end extrusion field, Sino-Alloy does not participate in many exhibitions, but they have always been a staunch supporter of the triennial K Show.

Since participating in K Show for the first time in 1998, Sino-Alloy has attended the event ten times! Nearly three decades of dedication, much like Sino-Alloy’s focus and commitment to extrusion machine design and manufacturing. As K Show grows, Sino-Alloy’s technology and machines have continued to accompany customers in expanding their market presence.

In response to post-pandemic market changes, Sino-Alloy’s innovations and technologies align well with the hot themes of K 2025. This is no coincidence but the inevitable result of Sino-Alloy’s decades-long, focused investment in the extrusion machine field.

With ten months to go before K Show, Sino-Alloy is already ready to showcase their excellent co-rotating twin-screw extrusion equipment, underwater pelletizing machines, and latest successful cases to share with old and new customers.

K Show 2025, meet Sino-Alloy in person!
